MY ACHIEVEMENTS

As a youth life seemed almost impossible. Having someone believe in me made a dramatic difference in my life. It made it so that the things that caused me so much pain, became the things that empowered me to want to make a difference in the lives of other youths.
“As the Lead Supervisor & Trainer of Richmond Works "Peer to Peer" training program, Ms. Brand received an outstanding achievement award by the Mayor on behalf of the City of Richmond. Several of her students went on to speak in front of legislators at the State Capital and have achieved further accomplishments such as becoming members of the Youth Partnership State Coalition. Julie is an outstanding educator, trainer, facilitator, and youth advocate. She is easily one of the best youth leaders and trainers that has ever participated in the program, and in my view (and that of my staff) one of the best in the State.” - Jay L. Program Coordinator Youth Works Division
years of experience

I believe that with hard work, discipline, and drive, and if it comes from a good place in your heart, all things are possible, if you believe!
From 2013-2023 I was the proud founder and director of A Wise Retreat, a private residential treatment facility for those suffering from substance use and co-occurring disorders. And for me it was a dream come true, one that I worked very hard for, prayed for, and believed in. Once there, I strived to give my best to my patients and their family members who put their trust in me, and my staff who believed in me. And so I pushed for what some called the impossible, achieving the Golden Seal of approval from the Joint Commission, the highest certification award a healthcare organization can receive. We accomplished that goal because we believed we could, because it came straight from the heart.

MY LATEST WORK
LONGING TO BELONG: Captivating and educating her audiences about the fundamental core needs we all share from birth; the need to feel loved, wanted and the need to feel we belong.
